CHECHENIA : ¡BASTA YA!

Señoras y señores del Consejo y de la Comisión europeos:

En el transcurso de trescientos años de ocupación rusa, Chechenia ha recibido los "beneficios de la colonización" en forma de cataclismos -masacres, destrucciones, deportaciones masivas- que acontecían, como media, cada cincuenta años.

En el curso de los siete últimos años, unos 150.000 habitantes de la república chechena - el 15% de su población- han perdido la vida, otros 250.000 de ellos se han convertido en refugiados y viven, en su mayoría, en condiciones inhumanas, decenas de miles de civiles y de miembros de la resistencia han vivido, o siguen viviendo, la realidad de los 'gulags' de la "democracia" rusa: los campos de selección, con su cortejo de torturas, violaciones, extorsiones y ejecuciones sumarias. Cada día que pasa alarga la lista de muertos, de heridos, de inválidos permanentes.

Ya conocen esas cifras y ya conocen esos hechos. No estamos en tiempos de Stalin. Son los de hoy. Son los de la Rusia de su colega Vladimir Putin, de una Rusia que se condena a sí misma al torturar Chechenia.

Señoras y señores del Consejo y de la Comisión europeas:

No tienen Vds. elección. A menos, claro, que prefieran seguir traicionando los valores y los ideales de la Unión y de sus países miembros. A menos que prefieran convertirse no sólo en cómplices por omisión, sino en aliados conscientes de los asesinos y, consecuentemente, en actores directos de la tragedia que se está produciendo en Chechenia. Ya han perdido Vds. demasiado tiempo, sólo les queda el recurso a la respuesta inmediata. -

- Deben Vds exigir al presidente de la Federación Rusa, Vladimir Putin, que negocie sin más tardanza con el presidente legítimo de la república chechena, Aslan Maskhadov, las modalidades y procesos de la descolonización de Chechenia. -

- Deben Vds, por sí mismos, proceder al reconocimiento internacional unilateral de la República Chechena de Itchekia.
